Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday

Wow, what a week. I know we’re already into a new week, but I’m still wandering around like it’s last Saturday. I’ll catch up with myself soon.

Lets get straight on with this week’s teaser…

Teaser Tuesday

It’s back to school for my daughter this week, so my writing will hopefully pick up again. I was right, I didn’t get much writing done last week, but I do have a teaser for you.

It’s getting hard to pick interesting teasers without spoilers, but I shall do my best.

I’m hoping for much more material to pick from next week now were back in the school routine.

Pop back tomorrow for the penultimate Prompt Me post.

Teaser Tuesday

It’s teaser Tuesday, folks! I’ve written a decent amount this week, despite having an eight month old that decided to pull himself to standing using the furniture and start crawling in the same week. Fear not, the playpen was delivered quickly… phew.

I had a few teasers to choose from, but I have decided to go with one that has a tad more insight into my MC.

It’s getting hard to pick teasers that don’t contain spoilers. As the weeks go on, I’m sure it’ll only get harder. Dont worry, I’ll hunt some out.

Be sure to stop by tomorrow for my Prompt Me #4 post.

Teaser Tuesday

Today marks the first day of my Teaser Tuesday posts. The title is self explanatory; every Tuesday I will post a small teaser from my current WIP.

I have not done a title or cover reveal for this WIP yet, so these teasers are just to give you a little taste.

However, I can tell you that I am working on a new zombie novella. If you enjoyed my first zombie novella, Zombie Playlist, I hope that this one will appeal to you too.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a productive Tuesday.

Pet Peeve

musings(1)

My pet peeve has been slowly growing of late. So much so that I decided to blog about it. The stem of my annoyance is articles, blog posts, writing books etc telling me what way is the right way to write. Let me explain: I appreciate informative pieces that advise writers of a certain style ie plotters or pantsers on some techniques to help with the process, but I do not like posts that say, Why you MUST plot your novel! or Why you should NEVER plot your novel. Or even worse…Do You Have Bad writing techniques?

Urgh! Please! Writing is a creative art form and with all creative artforms there is no one way and definitely no right way to do it. I’m a pantser, and although that is how I roll, I do not expect every one to be comfortable with this drafting style. If I write a piece about my writing process, I hope it would be informative, but not dictatorial.

“There are no laws for the novel. There never have been, nor can there ever be.”
—Doris Lessing

My advice to all writers is to keep getting those words down and stories finished in the way you feel is most comfortable and enjoyable to you as an artist.

Thrown to The Blue

More Thrown to The Blue Quotes

musings(1)

As I have been doing weekly CampNaNoWriMo updates, I opted against posting a WIP update. Instead, I thought I’d share some of my excerpts/quotes that I uploaded to Instagram. Thrown to The Blue is about 10k away from completion, and I hope to finish the first draft by the end of NaNo.

I’m happy to connect with other bloggers, writers, and readers via Instagram: KJ’s Insta!
