October Reads Round Up

A brief summary of my October reads with links to the full reviews.

The Train to the Edge of the Moon by Asper Blurry

14542778_1288198387898242_273136107_nFull Review: Train to the Edge of the Moon

I gave this book 4/5. Edgy, unique writing style that fitted well  with the raw topics covered in the narrative. Great supporting characters, and a perfectly destructive main character.

Book of Birds by L.M Bryski

14593634_1293690237349057_881885073_nFull Review: Book of Birds

I gave this book 4/5. Bryski has a beautiful writing style that fully submerges you in post-war Canada. Hard topics such as death and child murder are handled well, and seen through the eyes of a child. As a reader you feel as if you are peering over the shoulder of the main character, Elly.

Untamed (House of Night #4) by Kristin & P.C Cast

14874954_1313980458653368_1291488516_nFull Review: Untamed

I gave this book 3/5. Not my favourite of the House of Night series. This book felt a little like filler. However, I did enjoy the less self-centred Zoey, and certain relationship dynamics. As always, the character building was handled well, even if the story lacked a little something.

Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige

14805553_1306343342750413_826693064_nFull Review: Stealing Snow

I gave this book 3/5. Some wonderful world building, character development, and an interesting love square. There were a few unbelievable aspects that held me back from fully submerging myself into Snow’s mind set. A YA read that will do well with teens.
